Wouldn't you like to use Ed4W in place of what passes for a code editor in the AppBuilder?  This page shows you how.

Of course, it's not possible to substitute Ed4W for the editor widget used in the section editor.  Here's what this enhancement does instead:  A new option is added to the Edit menu, "Edit in Ed4W".  When this option is chosen the contents of the section editor are written to a file, and this file is pulled up for editing in Ed4W.  While you are editing the section in Ed4W a message appears in the AppBuilder session, blocking it.  When you are finished making changes in Ed4W, save the file and close it.  Then press OK in the message.  (To discard changes made in Ed4W, press cancel.)

This method gives you the best of both worlds.  Use the normal Section Editor for the few things it does that Ed4W does not (like inserting database field names) and use Ed4W for everything else.

To install the enhancement, download the file TTTEd4W.zip (if you haven't already) and extract the files _adeevnt.p and ed4w-se.w.  Put ed4w-se.w into a directory called "ed4w" in your propath.  Put _adeevnt.p into a adecomm directory in your propath (and make sure this is before the standard _adeevnt.p in the DLC directory.)  If your system already has a modified version of _adeevnt.p for some other enhancement, you will need to merge the 2 versions; this is not hard, just copy the code from my _adeevnt.p into the one you already have.

That's it!  If the files are in the correct locations it just works.
